Welcome from the Premier

As Premier of Yukon Territory, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all delegations participating in this year's Western Premiers' Conference. We are pleased to be hosting the conference in Dawson City, the traditional home of the Tr'ondek Hwech'in First Nation and the heart of the Klondike.

We are proud to be hosting several western Governors as well as the western Premiers. This allows us the opportunity to discuss areas of interest common both to Canada and the United States and to have open dialogue about the issues that are important to us.

Dawson City is an historic town, this year celebrating its 100th Birthday. Graced by the midnight sun, participants will be able to take advantage of twenty-one hours of daylight in June to experience the numerous attractions and activities in the area.
